Apart from woodworking classes I took growing up, I am a self-taught woodworker. I learned much of the basics during school, but as with all crafts, you are always a student. Honing technical skills and developing your creativity takes time and practice, but I am inspired to become a better craftsman every day and to push myself to find creative ways to reuse elements in my works.
Located in Lincoln, Nebraska, I started Rooted Woodworking in 2013 with the idea of simply taking locally sourced wood, when possible, and giving it another 'life' of usefulness and purpose. Whether its urban harvested trees or weathered barn wood, my aim is to give another life to salvaged wood, metal and glass and create unique furniture and beautiful house wares and kitchenware.
If you are in the Lincoln area and have a wooden item in your home or yard that needs updating or maybe even a complete face lift, I would love to work with you to make those changes happen. I want to listen to your ideas and needs, and then transform them into a beautiful element for your home that will be a sure conversation starter.
